- 英文摘要: The NAVSTAR/GPS (Navigation Satellite Timing and Ranging/Global Positioning System), a space-based navigation system, will accurately provide three-dimensional position and velocity, as well as timinginformation to users anywhere in the world. The navigation algorithm is based on the measurement oftransit time of RF signals transmitted from four satellites in a total constellation of 24. The superiorGPS performance can provide significant benefits in the areas of flight navigation, user positioning, resourcemapping, payload deployment and retrieval, space vehicle orientation determination, and mission planning. The development and implementation of GPS have been pursued by many countries for more thantwenty years.We are persuaded that its application potential is increasing. This paper gives a generaloverview for readers who are interested in GPS. A basic review of the GPS system of operation principle, navigation signals and messages,systemaccuracy and error sources, and other characteristics of the system is presented.
