Liapunov theory combined with steepest descent technique was used for
design of the model reference adaptive control of a chemical process. A general
mathematical adaptive mechanism to adjust the parameters Kp and Kl of a PID
controller was well derived and developed. This developed theory was applied to
a non-linear continuous stirred tank reactor. The overall system was simulated
on a hybrid computer and the adapted process response with different disturbances
were obtained. The advantage of steepest descent technique observed from the
time variation of Liapunov function and its derivative, was more quick to obtain
its final steady state value. Because the adaptive control law of the system was
derived from the Liapunov function, a more stable response was obtained when a
non-linear chemical process was applied. - 中文關鍵字: --
