- 中文摘要: 本研究乃將對羥基苯甲酸(p-hydroxy benzoic acid),接枝於具有過量羥基及酸基之傳統醇酸樹脂上,而合成一側鏈具有液晶原團(mesogen group)之液晶性聚合物。合成方法乃利用 dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC)在常溫下促進酯化反應並去除副產物之水,並以pyridine為溶劑、對甲苯磺酸(p-toluensulfonic acid)為催化劑,如此可抑制副產物之產生,並可促進酯化反應。合成具有液晶特性之醇酸樹脂,其可降低溶液之黏度而形成一塗層特性佳之醇酸樹脂,以合乎VOC(Volatile Organic Content)之要求; 縮短指觸時間為1/2小時; 形成之塗層硬度增加至3H,衝擊性增加; 塗層具良好之耐水性及耐酸性。但其唯一缺點為半透明之塗膜,因此乃接枝不同之液晶源:對羥基苯甲酸,對羥苯基乙酸(4-hydroxyphenylacetic acid),對羥苯基丙酸(3-(4-hydroxyphnel)propionic acid)於傳統之醇酸樹脂上。接枝對羥基苯甲酸可得一半透明之醇酸樹脂,接枝對羥苯基乙酸可得一透明之非結晶性(amorphous)醇酸樹脂,接枝對羥苯基丙酸可得一透明之醇酸樹脂。液晶行為之探討,可由攪拌乳白光(visualstir-opalescenes)熱示差分析儀(DSC)及偏光顯微鏡觀察得知。
- 英文摘要: Liquid crystalline (LC) alkyd resins have the following merits, i.e., the polymer solution viscosity and the coating's dry-to-touch time are reduced, coating film is both hard and tough and has excellent resistance to water and acid. LC alkyd resins with mesogenic side chains are prepared in this study via the following compounds: grafting p-hydroxybenzoic acid (PHBA), 4-hydroxyphenyl acetic acid and 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid to an excess succinic anhydride-modified alkyd resin. Pyridine is used as a solvent; in addition, the catalytic amounts of p-toluene sulfonic acid (p-TSA) are added to suppress a side reaction as well as to promote esterification. Dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) is employed to react with formed water in promoting esterification. The grafting of PHBA is found to produce translucency LC alkyd resins and grafting 3-(4-hydroxyphenyl) propionic acid has the optimum coating properties.
