- 英文摘要: The shape motion of oscillating falling liquid droplets plays a significant role to affect the mass transfer between gas and liquid droplets, which is an important mechanism for the transport of gas pollutant species in the atmospheric environment such as wet deposition and the air pollution control devices (APCDs) such as wet scrubbers. A proper description of the shape motion of droplets is thus essential to the adequate mass transfer model for use in air quality modeling of the atmospheric environment and process modeling of the APCDs. In this study, a simple harmonic motion is applied to describe the variation of the vertical axis of the droplet with successively excited oscillation. In the theoretical derivation, the volume of liquid droplet obeys the conservation law. A closed form solution is obtained. The results of the axis ratio (.alpha./sub.upsilon./) of the vertical to horizontal axis of the droplet agree well with the numerical result of Beard (1984) employing a potential flow model with gravity. This thus supports the simple harmonic motion nature of oscillating falling liquid droplets with successive excitation. The solution of the present analysis is simple and easier than the numerical solution for providing a good model for liquid-phase mass transfer coefficient of liquid droplet.
