- 中文摘要: The purpose of this study was to establish instruments for certifying future teachers of mechanical trades. Specifically, the focus of this study was to determine the professional knowledge, occupational knowledge and skills, general pedagogical knowledge, trade pedagogical knowledge, and proper passing scores of all aspects of certification instruments. Results are presented for a professional knowledge test, occupational knowledge and skills test, and general and trade pedagogical knowledge tests. Passing scores for all categories were determined and are listed. It was suggested that the knowledge test be conducted with paper and pencil, while the skills test should include a test of hands-on expertise. An actual teaching demonstration should be carried out in addition to the written and skills tests. Recommendations are made and cautions are noted for future applications.
