The effect of the gases accompanying the oxygen on the performance of
membrane-covered oxygen electrode was studied focusing on the permeation of
gases through the polymer membranes. Theoretical analysis based on the diffusion
equation of multicomponent gases was used in this work to clarify the uninterference
of accompanying gases. Experimental results support this postulation. Despite of
the effect of a few specific gases on the cathode reaction and their interaction with
the membranes, the interference of accompaning gases on the membrane-covered
oxygen electrode can be disregarded for employing it in the general purposes. - 中文關鍵字: --
