- 中文摘要: The purpose of this study was to investigate how employers, teachers and graduates perceived the effectiveness of the chemical engineering curriculum at a selected five-year college in Taiwan. A researcher-developed survey instrument was used to measure the respondents' perceptions of the curriculum's general, required, and elective courses comprising a chemical engineering curriculum. Their perceptions of the quality of education in a selected five-year college indicated that the college did provide chemical engineering graduates with skills, abilities, professional attitudes, self-confidence, and humanistic qualities. This survey also included the perceptions of teachers, employers, and graduates concerning the future development of chemical engineering (in twenty years). In addition, an openended question in the survey asked the teachers, employers, and graduates for recommendations in the all courses. The following findings emerged from the study. In the chemical engineering curriculum, the mean values of art, geography, and history were considered the least effective courses and needing some changes or improvement. Employers thought the college was more effective at providing students with interpersonal skills, self-confidence, and good humanistic qualities than the teachers did. Respondents thought that the future top-five focuses of the chemical engineering field should be environmental and energy engineering, bioengineering, plasma processing (microelectronics manufacturing), special chemicals manufacturing, and pharmaceutical engineering.
- 英文摘要: 本研究的目的是藉著調查台灣一所專科學校化學工程科老師、畢業生、及畢業生的雇主對於化學工程課程的觀感,來探討化學工程課程的有效性及實用性。本研究以自行設計的問卷去調查老師、畢業生、及這些畢業生的雇主對於化學工程課程中共同、必修、及選修科目的觀感,他們對於化學工程教育的品質及未來化工發展趨勢的看法,以及他們對於化學工程課程中共同、必修、及選修科目的具體建議。本研究發現在化學工程課程中,只有共同必修的三個科目藝術、地理、及歷史需要改進,老師、畢業生、及雇主只有在品質管制這一門選修科目上有不同的看法,而雇主和老師對於畢業生在人際關係技巧、自我肯定、及良好的人文素養上也有不同的看法,他們認為未來化工發展的五大趨勢是環境及能源工程、生化工程、微電子製造工程、特用化學品製造、及製藥工程。
