A series of experiments of CO2- and O2- absorptions into a water film
flowing in an inclined channel has been performed. The inclined channel can
produce a stable liquid film without rippling. The obtained data have been compared
with theoretical values and several experimental correlations for gas absorption into
the liquid film in the inclined channel have been given. The rates of gas absorption
are slower than the values theoretically expected, while they are faster than
calculated ones in wetted-wall columns. The stability of the liquid film in the
channel and other resistances to mass transfer such as an interfacial resistance are
