Butyl-titanate is used to bond metalic ion to epoxy resin for improving
the heat resistance of cured epoxy resin. In this report we also study the effects
on cross-linking behavior, the viscoelastic property, and heat resistance of
networks as well as composite.
It is found that: (1) Introducing chelates to epoxy resin networks will improve
the heat resistance of networks. Such effect is also observed in the form of
composite. (2) Since an appreciable raising Tg of TiO2-composite is observed,
there is some interaction between chelates and TiO2. (3) Less than 20% weight
loss was observed when the film obtained by this method was heated in the
atmosphere at 300℃ for seven hours. (4) Less amount of solvent is used to
obtain homogeneous mixture, and curing condition is reduced. These are
