The extraction of itaconic acid from aqueous solution by the ion exchange method has been studied.
With the anion exchange resin Amberlite IR-45(OH) both ammonium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide can be used as effective elutriants and can concentrate the itaconic acid solution to three fold in a single run.
Sodium hydroxide is comparatively a better elutriant than ammonium hydroxide.
More concentrated elutriants (about 4N NH4OH and 3N NaOH) give sharper peaks and narrower ranges under the peaks of the elution curves and complete the elution to 96-99% at an earlier stage than the dilute ones. - 英文摘要: --
