- 英文摘要: There is a concern over the potential use ofradioactive isotopes as a weapon of terror. The detonationof a radiation dispersal device, the so-called "dirty bomb" can lead to public panic. In order to estimate risks associatedwith radiation exposure, it is important to understandthe biological effects of radiation exposure. Based on thisknowledge, biomarkers to monitor potentially exposedpopulations after a radiological accident can be developedand would be extremely valuable for emergency response.While the traditional radiation exposure biomarkers basedon cytogenetic assays serve as standard, the developmentof rapid and noninvasive tests for radiation exposure isneeded. The genomics based knowledge is providing newavenues for investigation. The examination of geneexpression after ionizing radiation exposure could serve asa potential molecular marker for biodosimetry. Microarraybased studies are identifying new radiation responsivegenes that could potentially be used as biomarkers ofhuman exposure to radiation after an accident.
