- 中文摘要: 由1991年國際教育進展評鑑(IAEP)中我國學生在筆試及實作測驗中的表現,研討考試文化下,我國學生的解決問題能力。除IAEP各項測驗資料外,進一步以晤談法深入探討學生們在解題過程中的思考模式和解題策略。再用IEAP參加國之一蘇克蘭所做相類似的研究資料(Semple, 1992),以比較二國不同文化下學生的解題策略。結果發現我國學生對“被教方法”有較大的依賴性,而蘇克蘭的學生則較能自創策略以解決問題。
- 英文摘要: IAEP (International Assessment of Educational Progress) data were used to examine thenature and practices of Taiwan's science teaching, which has long suffered from teaching forexaminations. The study was focused on problem solving skills shown in the IAEP performancetest. In addition to the quantitative data from the IAEP, qualitative data were also collectedthrough follow-up studies. Both structured and unstructured interviews were conducted toinvestigate the problem-solving strategies used by the participating students. Data were alsocompared to those in the similar study done by Dr. Brian Semple (1992) in Scotland. Resultsindicated that Taiwanse students attempted to rely heavily on taught methods whereas Scottishstudents could develop their own methods to solve problems.
