The polymerization of acrylonitrile in aqueous medium with the redox-
catalyst H2O2/Rongalite/Fe++ was carried out in a batch reactor at 25℃. The time-
conversion and the time-temperature curves were constructed for both systems. It was
found that the following equations can describe the polymerization rates over a large
conversion range. ……for emulsion polymerization, …… for precipitation polymerization.
Empirical curves of temperature change were compared with theoretical curves. The
reaction kinetics discussed agreed with the experimentally observed temperature effects.
