- 英文摘要: The effects of vessel size, impeller geometry, and impeller-to-tank diameter ratio on the mixing efficiency of a box-type mixer-settler with a pump-mix type impeller were studied via the copper-LIX64N extraction system. The effective volumes of the vessels employed in the present work were 2, 10, and 50 liters, respectively. Each of the three vessels was operated with five different impellers having impeller-to-tank diameter ratios (D/T) of 0.4, 0.5, and 0.6, and blade numbers (n/sub b/) of 4,6, and 8. The batch extractional curves obtained experimentally were simulated by an interfacial reaction control model to obtain the values of the mixing efficiency parameter (k/sub r/a). From the log-log plot of k/sub r/a versus impeller power consumption per unit volume (P/V), it was found that the data were well correlated by a straight line with a slope of 0.4. The same value for the k/sub r/a. was obtained for the three vessels and fifteen impellers at the same level of P/V. It is inferred that scale-up of the mixer of a box-type mixer-settler with a pump-mix type impeller can be done on the basis of constant P/V level for metal extractions with organic solvents such as the copper-LIX64N system.
