- 中文摘要: 本實驗乃探討:(1)大白鼠正常動情週期中,血中雌性素與血糖值之關係,及(2)雌性素對於Alloxan致高血糖效應的影響。實驗採用3個月大的Long Evans大白鼠。結果,首次發現動情週期中,血中雌性素與血糖值間的相關關係,即春情前期血糖降至最低而雌性素濃度最高,呈顯著性負相關。此外,經Alloxan誘發之高血糖嚴重度,與血中內源性雌性素濃度成正相關;而與飢餓血糖值成負相關之關係。若將已切除卵巢之雌鼠植入外源性雌性素,亦可產生與上述內源性雌性素相似的作用型態。因此,我們認為,雌性素在正常的生理週期中,參與了葡萄糖的代謝作用,進而影響葡萄糖保護胰臟β-細胞以對抗Alloxan的致高血糖效應。
- 英文摘要: The purposes of this study were to investigate (1) the relationship between estrogen and glucoselevels in the circulation during an estrous cycle of the rat and (2) the effect of estrogen on the hypergly-cemic action of alloxan. Three-month old Long Evans strain rats were used. The present study establishedfor the first time the correlation between estrogen and glucose levels in the circulation during an estrouscycle. A significant (p<0.01) negative correlation was observed with the lowest glucose level at the pro-estrus stage where estrogen is at peak. The severity of hyperglycemia induced by alloxan was positivelycorrelated with the circulating level of endogenous estrogen, but was negatively correlated with the fastingglucose level. A similar pattern was observed in ovariectornized female rats that were followed by estradiolimplantation to achieve a constant level of circulating estrogen. It may be concluded from the presentstudy that estrogen, under physiological conditions, participates in the regulation of glucose metabolismduring various stages of the estrous cycle in the rats, and that glucose is likely able to protect the pancreaticbeta cells of the animals against the hyperglycemic action of alloxan.
