- 英文摘要: Although Sorghum roxburghii is quite different from S. propinquum in its morphological characters, the karyotypes of them are similar to each other. Moreover, in their F1 hybrid, pachytene pairing is normal and followed by full fertility. These results reveal that these two species are very closely related to each other. However, one striking cytological difference reveals that the nucleolus of 5. roxburghii is organized on the longest chromosome of the complement unlike in S. propinquum where the nucleolus associated with the shortest chromosome of the complement. Each of them has its distinctive nucleolus organizer. When they brought together into a single nucleus through hybridization, the organizers exhibit different synthetic abilities. In the F1 hybrid, only the normal nucleolus of S. propinquum is formed, while the nucleolus organizer of S. roxburghii becomes inactive. Inactive organizer forms no nucleolus; occasionally a vestigeal small one can be observed.
