實驗型單根光纖通信系統

二條各長一公里,粗細並不比毛髮大多少的玻璃纖維,在電信研究所光纖通信實驗室內,成功地被接成二公里長,可傳送高達10 Mb/S的數據信號,而錯誤率低於10 ,利用它來傳送T1-PCM 1.544 Mb/S的信號時,通話品質非常優異,聲音清晰。本文即對建立該系統所經歷的過程提出報告,包括為何研究光纖通信、光纖通信應用於國內何處、目前各國的研究情形如何、其經濟性又如何等等。並對建立一公里長數位/類比信號系統到二公里長數位系統的方法與結果,提出詳細報告。由於此項實驗的成功,下一年度預定在臺北市區內兩電信局間建立一個現場實驗系統。吾人預期該系統將有令人滿意的性能。

The most advanced research activitiesthroughout the world on fiber optic transmissiontechnology are reviewed and first given in thispaper. Then the author gives his point of viewwhy the research on this field is very importantin this country for both commercial telecommuni-cations and military applications. The undergo-ing research in Telecmmunication Laboratoriesis presented. The developed experimental singlefiber systems for TV signal and PCM signal arewell discussed. The author and his colleagues were nowworking very hard on their next 3-km-fibersystem program for field exploratory trial.
