A simple theory, based on heat and mass diffusion controlled, was used
to estimate the growth times for nuclei existing in a crystallizer at zero time.
The anticipated times are greater than those observed even without considering the
retarding surface curvature and interfacial kinetics effects. This phenomena may
be due to the presence of turbulent convective effects and nonspherical crystal
