去勢倉鼠哈得氏腺之電子鏡研究

摘除睪丸八週後,腺腔中出現色素顆粒,而胞質中之特殊管束,其超微構造及數量與正常倉
鼠者類似,並未發生變化;但去勢後再注射丙酸睪丸脂酮(溶於橄欖油中)八週,則腺腔中色素
顆粒消失,而且胞質中之特殊管束亦未見形態上之變化;去勢後再單獨注射橄欖油,其結果和僅
摘除睪丸組相差無幾,亦即色素顆粒和特殊管束均無改變。由本研究之結果顯示:雄性激素存在
時,則腺腔中色素顆粒消失,而且不論雄性激素是否存在,胞質中之特殊管束均可存在。過去
Bucana 等人(1972, 1973)推想:倉鼠哈得氏腺胞質中之特殊管束含有某種?或?系,可分解由
分泌細胞產生之色素,因此雄倉鼠胞質中含有特殊管束,而腺腔中則無色素顆粒。本研究不能支
持 Bucana 等人之此種推想。r

It has been shown that there are sex dimor-phisms in the hamster Harderian gland: (1) por-phyrin pigment granules are present in the acinarlumen of female glands and are absent fromthat of the male, (2) the cytoplasm of malesecretory cells contains packets of special cylin-drical tubules which are lacking in that of thefemale. The present experimental study was madeto see the relationship of the occurrence of thepigment granules and the special cytoplasmiccylinders with testosterone. In the glands ofhamsters 8 weeks after castration porphyrinpigment granules appear in the acinar lumen,and the number and the ultrastructure of thespecial tubules remain unaltered. In hamsterscastrated and supplemented with testosteronepropionate (dissolved in olive oil) for 8 weeks,the lumina of the glands contain no pigmentgranules, but the tubular structures remainunchanged. The Harderian glands of castratedmales administered with olive oil alone showthe presence of both pigment granules andtubular structures like those of the castratedanimals. The results of the present study suggestthat pigment granules in the acinar luminadisappear under the presence of testosterone,and that the occurrence of the special tubularstructures in the cytoplasm of secretory cells isrelated to neither presence nor absence of tes-tosterone. The results do not support the pre-vious view proposed by other investigators thatthe cylindrical tubules may contain an enzymesystem necessory for the break-down of por-phyrin pigment molecules.
