- 中文摘要: 在陸地生態系中,土壤有機物是主要之成份之一。以目前而言,估計土壤之碳的存量比探討其所造成之溫室效應更為重要。除了枯枝落葉及木炭中的碳以外,以台灣耕地及森林土壤共172個土壤樣體,來估計全台灣地區之有機碳存量,至100公分深度之總有機態碳含量為347 Tg(太克,10 g)。土表至30公分深度之有機碳含量為196 Tg,至50公分則為257 Tg。不同耕地土壤30公分內之平均有機碳含量範圍小自氧化土的2.80 kg/m2,大至灰燼土的18.3 kg/m2,而森林土壤之含量範圍則小自新成土的3.83 kg/m2,大至有機質土的36.9 kg/m2。總括台灣地區耕地土壤100公分探度內之有機碳有46-66%乃集中在30公分深度內,而65-81%則集中在50公分深度內;台灣地區森林土壤100公分探度內之有機碳有41-78%乃集中在30公分探度內,而60-90%則集中在50公分深度內。在本研究中,估算有機碳存量中之不確定因素,包括所選擇之土壤資料之代表性、品質及可信度等,均會影響其估算值之準確性。此外,估算值主要亦受到土地利用型式之改變、土壤管理及土壤生成因子之影響,如氣候變化、植生消長及地形位置之不同等。
- 英文摘要: Soil organic matter is a critical component of a terrestrial ecosystem. Estimating carbon pools in thissystem is more relevant than investigating global warming. In this study, we selected one hundred and sev-enty-two soil pedons from cultivated and forest lands in Taiwan to calculate organic carbon pools, excludingcarbon in the litter layer and charcoal; the total amount was 347 Tg (Teragram,10 g) from the soil surface toa depth of 100 cm. As estimated, the organic carbon in soils was 196 Tg in the upper 30 cm and 257 Tg in theupper 50 cm from the surface. The mean soil organic carbon storages in the upper 30 cm depth of differentcultivated soils ranged from 2.80 kg/m2 in Oxisols to 18.3 kg/m2 in Andisols; those in forest soils ranged from3.83 kg/m2 in Entisols to 36.9 kg/m2 in Histosols. Cumulatively, 46-66% of the total organic carbon to adepth of 100 cm in the mineral soils of Taiwan cultivated soils is stored in the upper 30 cm and 65-81% in theupper 50 cm from the surface. However, 41-78% of the total organic carbon to a depth of 100 cm in themineral soils of Taiwan forest soils is stored in the upper 30 cm as well as 60-90% in the upper 50 cm from thesurface. Different sources of uncertainty in estimating carbon pools, e.g, representativeness, quality, andreliability of selected soil data sources, influenced the variance of this estimation. The soil carbon pool inthis study also varied mainly as a result of land use patterns, soil management, and soil forming factors andprocesses, such as climate changes, vegetation succession, and topographic positions.
