摘除交感神經節對倉鼠松果腺內乙醯膽鹼?之影響

Biochemical assay reveals that acetylcholinesterase activity in the pineal glands of normal adulthamsters is 7.05 M. Two weeks after superior cervical ganglionectomy, about 22% of acetylcholinesteraseis lost. Ultrastructurally, acetylcholinesterase activity is localized in the perinulear space, Golgi complex,and smooth-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum of the pinealocytes. Enzyme reaction product is also detectedin the unmyelinated adrenergic nerve fibers and their endings, as well as in the myelinated nerve fiberswithin the pineal gland. After superior cervical ganglionectomy, the unmyelinated adrenergic nerve fibersand their endings completely disappears, while some acetylcholinesterase activity still remains in the pinea-locytes, suggesting that these cells are able to produce acetylcholinesterase. On the basis of the presentfindings, together with previous data, it is suggested that unmyelinated adrenergic nerve fibers in thehamster pineal gland are derived from the superior cervical ganglion, and that they convey noradrenalineand some acetylcholine to the pineal gland. In all likelihood, it is acetylcholine that induces pinealocytesto produce acetylcholinesterase.
