- 中文摘要: A detailed gravity survey over the Niushan anticline was conducted by theChinese Petroleum Corporation in the fall of 1967. The gravity map correspondsvery closely to the figure of the anticline. The Niushan anticline, situated on the eastern slope of the Peikang Massif, isan asymmetrical, north-south elongated, oval-shape, doubly plunging anticline. Itis one of the gas producers in southern Taiwan. The northern culmination wherethe important hroducing wells are concentrated is in a particular broad and nearlyflat shape. The gravity anomalies, together with surface and subsurface geology, havebeen analyzed to evaluate the structural configuration of the Niushan anticline. The gravity expressions of local structures in the anticline are rather strong andare adequately explained. The southern culmination near Chienshan and the Erhchungchi fault along thewest flank of the Niushan anticline are first discovered in this study. With thehelps of upward continuations of the observed gravity profiles and a line-integralmethod of computing the gravimetric effects of two-dimensional masses, the axialplane of the anticline is found to deviate eastward and the deep drilling should berecommended to the east of the surface culminations.
