- 中文摘要: Broadband operation of a slot-coupled compact rectangular microstrip antenna with a chip-resistor loading is demonstrated. By loading a chip-resistor at the radiating edge, a significant decrease in the resonant frequency of the rectangular microstrip antenna is achieved, which can result in a large antenna size reduction, and the operating impedance bandwidth is also seen to be significantly enhanced, as compared with the shorting-pin loading case. Good impedance matching can be easily achieved by adjusting the coupling-slot size, with the slot center fixed at the null-field point of the TM10 mode, i.e., the center of the rectangular patch. Also, it is found that the required slot size increases with increasing loading resistance. Typical antenna designs and experimental results are presented and discussed.
