- 中文摘要: Rectangular ridged waveguides (RRW) with large aspect ratios possess many interesting field properties that are quite sensitive to the width and height ratios of the waveguide geometries. A full analysis of these structures requires complex mathematical formulations to take into account different waveguide shapes (convex or concave), mode types (TE or TM) and symmetry conditions. In this paper, we propose a single geometric model which is based on the general spectral domain integral equation formulation. By choosing the integral equation along the direction across the neck of a waveguide, fast and highly accurate field solutions can be obtained for a ridged waveguide with an arbitrarily large aspect ratio. We find that the problem is not only of great theoretical value, but also of practical use in that we may apply these limiting solutions to determine the effectiveness of other multi-resolution numerical techniques, such as the finite-element and the variable grid finite-difference methods.
