- 英文摘要: This paper studied the effect of processing parameters, such as pouring temperature and time and different sand molds, on the pressures of gas exhausted from sand molds poured with cast iron and A356. The effects of feeding rate and temperature of molten metal passing through ingate or reaching the top surface of castings on the quality of castings were observed qualitatively. The casting defects observed were shrinkage, gas hole (or blow hole), or casting without integrity due to incomplete exhaust of gas in the mold cavity. Experimental results show the ideal feeding rates and temperature ranges for cast iron and A356 castings under the gating ratio of 1:4:2.
