- 英文摘要: Postganglionic adrenergic nerve endings appeared in the pineals from 9-day-old animals. These nerve endings have a few small granular vesicles and many small clear vesicles. The number of the small granular vesicles were increased in the aged newborn animals. In 9-day-old hamsters treated with 6-hydroxydopa-mine, the adrenergic nerve endings began to degenerate. Various stages of degenerated adrenergic nerve endings were detected in 16-day-old treated animals, and these nerve endings completely disappeared in the pineals from 23-day-old treated animals. Some cisternae of the smooth-surfaced endoplasmic reticulum (smooth ER) and Glogi vacuoles were greatly dilated in the pinealocytes in treated newborn hamsters. In the pineals from treated adult hamsters, many adrenergic nerve endings were degenerated. Some smooth ER in the pinealocytes also showed dilated profiles. The number of dense-cored vesicles was reduced, while the lysosome-like dense bodies were increased in the pinealocytes from treated newborn and adult hamsters. The weights of pineals were significantly reduced, whereas those of the testes and accessory organs were markedly increased in the treated adult hamsters. From the present experimental results it is apparent that an intact sympathetic innervation to the pineal gland is essential for its normal function.
