- 英文摘要: Electrical enhanced demulsification in a high voltage field is one of the effective demulsification methods for emulsion liquid membranes. W/O type emulsions consisting of de-ionid water droplets containing H/sub 2/SO/sub 4/ in paraffin oil (PO 7174 or PO 7160) with a surfactant (SPAN 80 or ECA 4360) are subjected to a uniform 60Hz, AC high voltage electrostatic field (0.83-10kV/cm) for demulsification. About 80% of emulsions are demulsified within 10 minutes, and the demulsification is almost complete after around 20 minutes at electric field strength greater than 5kV/cm. Three successive steps are hypothesized to involve in demulsification process under high voltage field, i.e., droplet coalescence and growth (DCG), droplet settling (DS), and droplet interfacial coalescence (DIC). The results show that DCG step is the rate controlling step among the three successive steps.
