• 中文摘要： 本文為「利用電子計算機做數值天氣預報之研究及應用」計劃第二年研究報告。工作重點為改進資料輸入方式，檢討客觀分析，統計數值預報圖誤差，及探討導致預報誤差之原因及其消除之方法。 在國內廣播之高空壓溫報告電碼格式欠齊一之下，已設計完成將電傳打字紙帶（TTY PAPER TAPE）上之資料轉錄成磁帶，直接輸入電子計算機，既節省時間又減少錯誤，使一貫作業成為可行。 在客觀分析方面，運用下式所求得之網格點估計值之修正值△U， △U═Wmf ΣWl(Uf-Ul)/ΣWl經分析統計結果，一般偏低，標準差為 51.15 重力公尺。如用「最小平方法」( LEASTSQUARES )獲得其訂正公式如下。其效果雖離標準差尚遠，卻還差強人意。 △U'═－4.11+1.053△U 在數值預報圖方面，採用正壓及相當正壓兩模式同時製作東亞500mb　天氣圖，所得結果頗令人滿意，但一般來說，後者略優於前者。二者共同之缺點有三，即 1.預測高度一般偏低，尤以我國大陸沿海為甚。 2.預報橫槽移動甚差。 3.邊界影響使預報時距不能超過36小時以上。 對於誤差產生之原因及未來之改進，本文中亦加以介紹。
• 英文摘要： This is the second report of the project "A study of mmerical weather predictionby the use of electronic computer". In this report we pressnt some statistical resultsboth on the results of objeetive analysis and barotropic models. The statistical results show that the high fields of our objective analysis andmodel forecasting are, in general, lower than those on the "standard maps". Wetry to overcome this weakness, for objective analysis, by least square method. Both barotropic and equivalent barotropic models are used to prepare 500mbprognotic contour charts. Also the statistical resulls show that the results of thesetwo models are good enough for predict the major systems, but the second modelis a little better than the first. Some problems of these two models are alsodiscussed in this paper.
