The reaction of carbon black with carbon dioxide in the temperature
range of 890℃-1098℃ and at atmospheric pressure was studied. The specimens of
carbon black were circular disks with thickness of 0.280 cm and diameter of
2.858 cm. The extents of reaction were calculated from the weight change of the
carbon pellet. Reaction rates of initial stage were used to calculate the reaction
rate constant. The reaction is assumed to be composed of two steps: chemisorp-
tion of carbon dioxide on carbon
Cf+CO2→C(O)+CO(g)
and gasification of carbon
C(O)→CO(g)
This mechanism results in the following type of rate expression
Rate =
where [Ct] is the total number of reaction sites on the carbon surface.
The expression for i2[Ct] was found to be
i2[Ct]=3.004×10^5 exp(-63,318/RgT)
A more practical rate constant kg can be expressed as
kg =3.737×10^5 exp(-58,897/RgT) cm/sec - 中文關鍵字: --
