- 英文摘要: Leaf senescence is completely prevented by the removal of pods at pod-fill stage, which was 11 days after flowering. Pod removal increases the initiation of new flowers. Thus, leaf senescence is triggered by the developing pods or seeds, but not by flowers. Compared with high temperature (30蚓 for day and 25蚓 for night), low temperature (20蚓 for day and 15蚓 for night) retards leaf senescence of podded plants. Temperature treatments do not alter the effect of pod removal in retarding leaf senescence. The plant does not seem to switch from reproductive to vegetative growth after pod removal. Plants treated with high temperature at pod-fill stage for three weeks have lower seed yield and more pods shed than those with low temperature. The longevity of plants treated with low temperature was increased by one week.
