- 中文摘要: In this work, we study a mechanism of the Stark effect on single molecular spectroscopy using the perturbation method. In particular, mechanisms of the induced dipole moment of a molecule imbedded in polar and non-polar host molecules are theoretically investigated by applying LCAO MO to a guest molecule. Ab initio calculations are performed to study how the distance between a guest and a host molecule affects the induced dipole and quadrapole moments. We have found that the induced dipole moment is very sensitive to short range configurations while the induced quadrapole moment can be affected by longer range configurations.
