水稻抗旱性之研究(二)水稻脯氨酸累積之利用性

水稻的四個品種利用盆栽或玻璃室內水泥槽栽培,分別於營養生長時期及生殖長時期斷水,其結果為單株產量驟減,株高、一穗粒數、穗重、穗長均顯著減少,不稔實率卻顯著增加;特別是在生殖生長時期受處理的影響較大。 選擇十二種不同抗旱性測定方法,以比較各測方法之可靠性及穩定性,發現利用切離葉片脯氨酸分析法,不僅在品種間顯出較大的變異性,同時與其他方法之間的相互關係也甚為密切。脯氨酸分析法與斷水後植株之株高及植株死亡率呈負相關,與種子抗KCIO毒性及根長呈正相關。故建議脯氨酸分析為一可靠而穩定之測定方法。 由淨相關之分析,同時建議品種間抗旱能力之測定最好以二種或三種方法同時實施。最有效之測定方法,可在株齡為三十天時從事切離葉片脯氨酸含量之分析,同時行斷水處理後植株死亡率之調查,然後恢復灌水,再於減數分裂時期作斷水處理,出穗後期調查植株之不稔實率。

Four rice varieties in plots and greenhouseconcrete plant beds were subjected to waterstress at both vegetative growth and reproduc-tive periods. The results showed a concurrentdecrease in plant height, grain number perpanicle, panicle weight and panicle length, andan increase in sterility per panicle resultingthe grain production unprofitable especiallywhen water stress was applied at the reproduc-tive period. Comparison among tweleve methods inmeasuring drought resistance of ten ricecultivars was carried out to investigate theiraccuracy and stability. It was indicated thatproline assay had greater variability amongvarieties and also was shown to have moreclose relationship with other testing methods.Proline analysis method was negativelyassociated with the measurements of plantheight and plant death rate, and positivelycorrelated with KCIO toxicity and root lengthunder water stress. It may be suggested thatproline analysis method is to be a goodindicator due to its accuracy and stability inmeasuring drought resistance. From partial correlation analysis, utilizationof a combination of two or three methodswould be more efficient in evaluating varietiesfor drought resistance. The most rational com-bination suggested is as follows:a prolinecontent assay plus the plant death rate and thesterility assessment after water stress at vegeta-tive and reproductive stage respectively.
