- 英文摘要: Previous literature has given solutions for the convective diffusion of a fluid flow in a tubular reactor with a first-order homogeneous reaction inside the tube and a heterogeneous reaction at the wall. In this work previous results are re-examined to include effects for a low Peclet number fluid flow. The velocity is assumed to be laminar and fully developed throughout the tube and the fluid concentration is considered to be uniform at axial coordinate X=-∞. Numerical computations of the concentration distribution and the Sherwood number are presented. Comparison of the present analyses with previous results shows that the previous solutions apply to a large Peclet fluid flow. However, chemical conversion of a small Peclet number fluid in a tubular reactor is significantly influenced by the boundary condition imposed at X≧0 and the new solutions must be used.
