- 中文摘要: Syntheses of hemicellulose pulysaccharides studied with 20,000×g sediment-able particles of bamboo shoots and C-14 labeled sugar nucleotides. It has beenfound that glucosyl transfer from GDPG into a water-insoluble, dilute alkali solublematerial was specifically stimulated by the addition of UDPX, while the synthesisof callose from UDPG was inhibited by the same xylosyl mucleotide. The stimula-tion by UDPX of glucosyl transfer from GDPG was supposed to be due to thecopolymerization of glucose and xylose in the formation of a glucoxylan. UDPXwas found to contribute the xylosyl group for the formation of a water solublepentosan. Preliminary results indicated that the product was probably a mixtureof a xylan and an arabinan. When observed with an electron microscope, themicrofibrils of the cell walls of bamboo shoot tissues appeared as spindle shapedand were composed of very fine short rod subunits. These structural features ofthe microfibrils are considered to contribute to the very high rate of cell wallexpansion as well the excellent texture as a vegetable.
