- 中文摘要: 本研究分析了臺南層內貝類化石的碳氧同位素組成。由貝類的碳十四定年資料可知臺南層是從全新世早期開始沈積,一直延續到全新世晚期。貝類化石的碳氧同位素組成所顯示的古環境,可從開闊性的海洋到有淡水影響的沿岸;與以前古生物的研究結果相符。如果全新世中期以來,臺南附近海水的氧同位素組成維持不變的話,則由貝類化石的氧同位素組成所顯示的海水溫度變化不會超過攝氏十一度。由碳十四定年資料的分佈看來,缺欠約四千年前的定年標本可能是由於最近一次構造活動所致。
- 英文摘要: Oxygen and carbon isotopic compositions have been determined in fossil molluscan shells from the HoloceneTainan Formation of southern Taiwan. Based on 14C dating results obtained thus far, the Tainan Formation wasdeposited from early to late Holocene. The stable isotopic distributions of mollusks show that these mollusks inhabitedan environment ranging from normal marine to brackish. This observation, based on stable isotopic results, isin good agreement with previous studies, which have indicated that the depositional environments of the TainanFormation are characteristically lagoonal, estuarine and shallow marine ones. If the oxygen isotope variation ofsea water during the middle and late Holocene is similar to that of the present, then the temperature fluctuationsaround Tainan for samples collected during this study would not be over 11℃. Examining the distribution of14C data of the Tainan Formation, it is postulated that the last tectonic activity may be occurred about 4000 yrB.P., during the late Holocene.
