- 中文摘要: This study examined the relationship between school achievement and attentionbreath, and the relationship between school achievement and the ability for attentionconcentration. Two predictions were established for experimental investigation.They are: 1) the attention breadth of the high achiever is broader than that of thelow achiever, and 2) the ability for attention concentration of the high achiever isbetter than that of the low achiever. From 650 male students in the first grade of Tachu Junior High school, twenty.five subjects were selected who met the criterion of high achiever and thirtysubjects were selected who met the criterion of low achiever. The subject whosestandard score of school achievement was higher than his standard score of theGeneral Ability Test by ten points or more was considered as a high achiever, andand the subject whose standard score of school achievement was lower than hisstandard score of the General Ability Test by ten points or more was consideredas a low achiever. The Bender-Gestalt Test and the Counting of the Lines and Dots Test wereadministered to the low and high achievers. These two groups of subjects werethen compared on the total Bender-Gestalt eye-movement score, the Ko's Bender-Gestalt Test score, each of the nine Bender-Gestalt figure eye-movement scores, thetotal score of the Counting of Lines and Dots Test, and each subscore and the scoreof the second part of the same test. The result of comparison found that on each of these measures the high achievergroup differed from the low achiever group in the predicted direction, and thatamong these 26 attentional measures the Ko's Bende-Gestalt Test score, the thirdBender-Gestalt figure eye-movement score, the dth and fth scores of the Countingof Lines and Dots Test were found to be capable of differentiating the two groupsfrom each other in the predicted direction on a level of statistical significance. The findings therefore support the two predictions of the present study. Finally, some defects of the research design of the present study were discussedand the ways to remedy them were proposed.
