• 中文摘要： 本文主要是介紹有群矩陣及距離空間之間的相互關聯，並引進了矩陣的一些方法。也了解有限群在距離空間（特別是流形）的群作用問題。從這一新的理論出發，我們介紹了質譜半徑的估計及其與群表現的關聯。另外也介紹了利用距離空間的方法來了解馬可夫鏈的極限等老問題及新結果。
• 英文摘要： In this expositary paper, we discuss the interactions between finite groups, matrices and metricspaces. The idea of this comes from the mathematical frog problem. However, we are not interestedin solving this problem. Instead, we discuss how to use matrix theory to study the actions of finite groupson metric spaces and also explain how to use the metric space technique to study the long run behaviorof Markov chains.
