A regular parameter perturbation method for the analysis of inverse
Stefan problem using Stefan number as parameter is proposed. Perturbation
solutions are obtained for the constant speed freezing of warm liquid in forced flow
inside or outside cylinders. The zero-order solution is shown to be the quasi-
steady state solution. Numerical examples are given for outward solidification.
The convergence is satisfactory for small Stefan number. In the case of moderate
Stefan number, e. g., Stefan number=0.3, high order solutions are necessary.
For inward solidification, the curvature effect is very important at the end of the
freezing. Therefore, to keep constant speed freezing, the coolant temperature
should decrease and then increase. There is a singular point at the end of
