- 中文摘要: The asynchronous learning system has dramatically changed the teaching environment. It eliminates teaching limited to a particular place and time. This paper employs database technology to record the learning status and timing of asynchronous learners. These records are then used to obtain the timing of asynchronous learning. There are two viewpoints to study: first is the interval at which students enter or login to the asynchronous courseware through the asynchronous teaching material server. The duration a student spends reading after login is also studied. Second, there are the material selection and detailed time distribution a student spends with each study subject. Through the combination of the above two studies, a picture of the learning characteristics of asynchronous learners can be developed. The characteristics of the timing of learning not only indicate a basis for evaluating learning by students, but also show that assisting mechanisms, partial classroom teaching, and course progress control are required. Thus, the characteristics of the timing of learning play an important role in the design of asynchronous learning systems.
