- 中文摘要: Pure water, 2.66% sodium chloride solutions, Brujewicz's artificial sea water andsurface Kuroshio sea water (in the 8th cruise surrounding Taiwan island), enrichedwith a suitable concentration of ammonium and nitrate ions with different pHvalues, were irradiated with ultraviolet light or cobalt-60 gamma-ray. The yieldesof products such as nitrite, nitrate (or ammonia) and hydrogen peroxide wereassayed. Photo-- and radiation oxidation一reaction of ammonium to nitrite and nitratewas based on pH values, dissolved oxygen (with hydroxyl radicals and hyrogenperuxide) and the concentration of chloride ions. Reduction reaction of nitrate tonitrite and ammonia was due to hydrated electron (with hydrogen atom) and con-centration of nitrate in sea water. Hydroxyl radicals might not react with nitratebut it could reoxidizc nitrite during the irradiation of nitrate solutions. From theexperimental results the Possible mechanisms were discussed concerning the photo-and radiation induced redox reactions in pure water, sodium chloride solutions,Brujewicz's artificial sea water and natural sea water.
