- 中文摘要: This study was intended to discover the relationship among college students' decision-making style, coping with uncertainty, and career satisfaction. The phenomenological perspective was adapted. Specifically, this study applied the theoretical sampling method to recruit participants, the interview guide approach to collect data, the constant comparison method to develop coding categories, and the interactive synthesis strategy for the cross-case analysis in analytic induction to detect the relationship among variables. Data were obtained from 9 college students, each of whom was interviewed three or four times, ranging from four to seven hours in total. Results indicated four decision-making styles (rational, intuitive, authorizing, and open) and two coping approaches with uncertainty (control and acceptance). The combinations of the styles and approaches resulted in three basic planning styles, namely pursuing control with rationality, pursuing easiness at one's pleasure, and accommodating to and accepting the reality. Cognitive adjustment, in terms of accepting limits, following wherever it goes, avoiding being shameful, and staying optimistic-minded, was applied along with all of those coping methods. The determinant factors in selecting coping methods included the importance of events, the attitudes of significant others, the characteristics of the methods, the nature of the situation, and one's subjective preference, intention, perceived possibility of success, and past experience. The perceived effects of different coping methods vary as a function of one's value-compromise, coping style, origin of life meanings, and retrospective approach. Cognitive adjustment was found to play an important role in maintaining positive feeling and evaluation toward one's coping methods. The findings confirmed the existence of diverse and individualized career views, and each of which was found to have its own values in promoting career satisfaction. The need to develop diverse and individualized career theories and practice was in call.
- 英文摘要: 本研究旨在探討大學生的決策型態、不確定性的因應與生涯滿意度之關聯,以現象學觀 點為基礎,以理論性抽樣篩選參與者,以訪談綱要法蒐集資料,以持續比較形成編碼類別,並採用交互統整的案例間分析策略進行分析性歸納,以探討變項間關係。本研究訪談九位大學生,每人訪談三或四次,共計四至七小時。結果顯示四類決策型 態:理性型、直覺型、授權型與開放型;不確定性的因應方向有二:尋求掌控與接納不確定性。綜合決策型態與不確定的因應方式,歸納出三個基本規畫模式:理性掌控、隨興自在與 隨順接納。此外,所有規畫模式均伴隨不同程度與種類的認知調適,包括接納限制、順其自然、但求無愧與樂觀。所有參與者均傾向於看情形綜合運用不同規畫方法,其決定因素包括 事情重要性、他人態度、方法性質、處境本質、主觀偏好、個人意向、成功把握與先前經驗。參與者都認為自己的實際決策型態與不確定性的因應方式接近適合自己的理想模式,影 響其效用評估的因素則包括對不同價值的折衷平衡、所用規畫模式、生命意義的內外在導向、觀照焦點的歷程或結果取向以及認知調適。本研究發現肯定多樣且個別化生涯觀之存在 與其各自獨特的價值,並指出發展多元化與個別化生涯發展理論與服務的必要性。
