Based on grain model, discussions were made on the catalytic effects
and the effects of grain shape and adsorption equilibrium constant of the system
of reactions between two solid grains through gaseous intermediates where diffusion
effects are absent. The reaction is thought as a net result of two coupled gas-solid
reactions. The Langmuir-Hinshelwood type of kinetic expression which covers a
wide range of domain with first-order and zeroth-order kinetics as two extremes has
been incorporated into formulation.
A formulation for the more realistic system was proposed in which grain size
distribution has been taken into account. The effects of Gates-Gaudin-Schuhman
grain size distribution and log-normal grain size distribution on the conversions
were examined. It was found that the conversions of the case when both solid grains
have same log-normal distributions may be approximated by those of uniform grain size. - 中文關鍵字: --
