- 英文摘要: Distillation processes are very difficult to control due to their strong nonlinear property and multivariable nature. This paper is discussing an application of a newly developed method--nonlinear model predicted control(Economou, et al.). This work is the first attempt to implement the above approach in a multivariable environment. The direct use of a material-energy balance model for the above nonlinear control was recommended by the original literature. It is found that noticeable improvement compared with conventional controllers could be achieved. Furthermore, the very significant interaction problem for distillation control can be internally decoupled in the computation of control action by the numerical inverse of the process model. However, it is also found that the stability of the model could be a problem if a persistent disturbance occurred. A simple material balance to identify the inlet flow rate was implemented to tackle the stability problem and satisfactory result was achieved.
