A convenient method to prepare methyl 3-arylsydnonylacetate (I) from 4-acetyl-3-arylsydnone with thallium (III) nitrate by oxidative rearrangement was investigated.
4-Formyl-3-arylsydnones were reduced by sodium borohydride at room temperature to produce 4-hydroxymethyl-3-arylsydnones (II) in moderate yields (65%-85%), but the corresponding 3-aryl-4-sydnonecarboxaldehyde arylhydrazone (III) was obtained by the electrolytic reduction. - 英文摘要: --
