- 中文摘要: 本研究利用間接免疫螢光試驗法(indirect immunofluorescent test)測定臺灣男性青年血清中所含Legionella pneu-mophila抗體效價的分佈狀況。在所測驗的200人的血清中,抗體效價高達1:256的有兩個人,佔全部總人數的1.0%;抗體效價在1:128的有21人,佔被測總人數的10.5%;抗體效價在1:64的有56人,佔被測總人數的28.0%;抗體效價1:32,佔最大的比例(37.0%),共有74人。血清抗體效價在1:64或在1:64以下的人數,約佔總人數的88.5%,而抗體效價等於或大於1:128的人數,則佔總人數的11.5%。因此根據克萊茵氏(G.C. Klein)對於血清抗體效價上極限的定義法,則臺灣男性青年血清中,用間接免疫螢光試驗法測得抗體效價的上極限應定於1:128,此結果可供血清法診斷退伍軍協症(Legionnaires disease)之參考。因 L. pneumophila與其他病原菌之抗原常有交叉反應(cross reaction),故含較高抗體效價的血清,更進而用血清吸收試驗法(serum absorption test),以Pseudomonas pseudomallei及Bacteroidesfragilis二菌之抗原分別吸收後,再測定血清所含L. pneumophila抗體之特異性。實驗結果證明本研究所測得的L.pneumophilla的抗體效價具有相當程度的特異性。
- 英文摘要: Using indirect immunofluorescence (IF) test, the frequency of antibody titers to Legionella pneumo-phila was determined in the sera from normal young men in Taiwan. Of 200 persons tested, two personshad the IF antibody titer of 1:256 and 21 persons 1:128, which represented respectively 1.0% and 10.5%of the total number of sera tested. Fifty six persons (28.0%) were found to have the antibody titer of 1:64;74 persons which constituted the largest group (37.0%) in the population had the titer of 1:32. When thosebelow or equal to the titer of 1:64 were all accumulated, they were found to represent 88.5% of the totalpopulation tested and 11.5%had the titer of 1:128 or greater. It is suggested that the upper limit of theIF antibody titers to L. pneumophila for the normal young male population in Taiwan be set at 1:128.Furthermore, some serum specimens with higher titers of IF antibodies to L. pneumophila were furtherabsorbed with the lyophilized antigen of either Pseudomonas pseudomallei or Bacteroides fragilis. The dataindicated that the IF antibodies observed in this investigation are relatively specific to L. pneumophila.From these results, it is highly speculated that the organism of L. pneumophila is present in our environ-ment. The results of this investigation may also serve as background information to aid in the serodiagnosisof Legionnaires' disease in Taiwan.
