r - 英文摘要: Cyproterone acetate (CA) is a synthetic (方程式無法摘錄) steroid. It is capable of inhibiting activity of Δ -3β-HSD, which is a key enzyme for steroid biosynthesis. Tadpoles of the semidifferentiated sex race ofRana catesbeiana were reared in water containing different doses of CA. After 10 months of treatment,control tadpoles had mostly normal ovaries, some intersexes and no testes, conforming to the characteristicsof the sex race used. All ovaries of the CA-treated tadpoles were completely or partially transformed intotestes. The rate of this experimental gonadal sex transformation was dependent proportionately on CAdosage. Tadpole livers were assayed for conversion rate of Δ -3β-HSD using H-pregnenolone as the sub-strate. The results show decreased enzyme activity after CA treatment; the degree of enzyme inhibitionwas also dose-dependent. The difference between the slopes of these 2 dose-response lines is not statistical-ly significant, indicating a concomitant relationship between gonadal transformation and enzyme inhibition.Therefore, the present findings lend weight to support our suggestion that disturbance in ovarian steroido-genesis plays a role in CA-induced gonadal sex transformation.
