The purpose of this study is to examine whether benzyl alcohol affects N-methyl-D-aspartate (NMDA) receptor in cortical cells. Benzyl alcohol (0.5–2 mM) inhibitedNMDA-induced cytotoxicity. The protective effect of benzyl alcohol on NMDA-induced toxicity disappeared
