• 英文摘要： Herpes virus in the turkey (HVT), strain FC-126, which was propagated in chicken embryo fibroblast cultures (CEF) from specific pathogen free (SPF) eggs, and stored in liquid nitrogen, was shown by sterility test to have no microbial contamination. Inoculation with large amounts of virus in day-old chickens did not produce clinical signs or gross lesions of Marek's disease (MD) during the four-month experimental period. Chickens inoculated with HVT were protected against the challenge of virulent MD virus which was isolated in Taiwan. This preparation of the seed virus meets the requirement of 'Code of U.S. Federal Regulations' Title 9, Chapter 1, #113.165 as a master seed virus for MD vaccine production.
