- 中文摘要: Garber(1950, 1951)主要根據外部形態特徵將四元體物種Sorghum australiense歸類於Para-sorghum亞屬,六元體物種S. plumosum歸類於Stiposorghum亞屬。本研究由外部形態特徵無法明確鑑定該二多元體之分類地位,但藉體細胞核型分析表示四元體S. australiense之核型和Stiposorghum亞屬者相似,而六元體S. plumosum之核型和Para-sorghum亞屬者相似。故從細胞學的觀點似可將四元體S. australiense改歸類於Stiposorghum亞屬內,而六元體S. plumosum改歸類於Para-sorghum亞屬內。
- 英文摘要: Garber (1950, 1951) considered tetraploid Sorghum australiense a member of the subgenus Para-sorghum since this polyploid species has an obtuse callus, transverse pedicel scar and obovoid seed, andhexaploid S. plumosum a member of the subgenus Stiposorghum since it has a pointed callus, obliquepedicel scar and subulate seed. However, the data presented in this report indicate that these two polyploidspecies are similar to each other with respect to these three diagnostic characteristics; both of them share ashort pointed callus, short oblique pedicel scar and broadly subulate seed. They seem to be intermediatebetween subgenera Para-sorghum and Stiposorghum for these three characteristics. It is difficult to identifythese two polyploid species definitely on a morphological basis alone. Consequently, any decision concern-ing the taxonomic status of these polyploid species must await the extensive analyses of their karyotypes.Detailed analyses of the karyotypes of these two polyploid species in this report show that the karyotypeof S. australiense is similar to that of the subgenus Stiposorghum and the karyotype of S. plumosum islike that of the subgenus Para-sorghum. Therefore, the tetraploid species S. australiense should be assignedon cytological grounds to the subgenus Stiposorghum and the hexaploid species S. plumosum to thesubgenus Para-sorghum.
