水稻品種對黑尾葉蟬為害之感受性差異至為明顯。此項事實首於1969年在國際稻米研究所檢
定水稻品種對 N. impicticeps 之感受性發現。本試驗在觀測經該所檢定對 N. impicticeps 具抗
性之品種是否也抗廣汎分佈於本省之另兩種黑尾葉蟬,Nephotettix cincticeps 及 Nephotettix
apicalis.
試驗結果顯示,在有寄主讓葉蟬自由選擇狀況下,三種葉蟬對同一品種之嗜好程度相當一致。
但若將葉蟬分別罩於每一品種,使其無品種可以選擇,則共生存率,棲?增殖以及植株受害程度則
因水稻品種及葉蟬種類而異。抗蟲品種如 DM 27, DS 1 及 DK 1 等三品種對三種葉蟬之取食為害
均具極高之抵抗性。在這些品種,葉蟬之生存率及棲?增殖量均非常低落,植株受害亦極輕微。但
在另三種抗蟲品種,ASD 7, Ptb 19 及 Pankhari 203,水稻抵抗 N. impicticeps 品種亦抵抗
N. apicalis, 但對 N. cincticeps 之抗性則顯然較差。N. cincticeps 在 ASD 7 及 Ptb 19 之植
株造成中間型之為害,而在 Pankhari 203 造成嚴重為害。感蟲品種,臺中在來1號對三種葉蟬
為害均非常敏感,三種葉蟬在此品種之嗜好程度,生存率及棲?增值均較任何一種重抗蟲品種為高。
由本試驗結果顯示水稻品種對三種葉蟬之抵抗性並非完全一致,此在選鐸抗蟲育種材料時,宜加注
意。s - 英文摘要: Seven rice varieties known their reactions to Nephotettix impicticeps were testedfor their susceptiblity to two other rice green leafhopper species in this island,viz, Nephotettix apicalis and Nephotettix cincticeps. The host preference, survival rate,increase in population and plant damage of each leafhopper species on each testedvariety were comparatively observed under Mylar screen house during Feburary toJuly, 1970. The results of this study revealed that the reactions of each leafhopperspecies on different varieties varied remarkably. However, the host preferenceamong 3 leafhopper species on a same tested variety were almost the same. Onthe other hand, when the insects were caged separately according to the species ondifferent varieties, the survival rate of nymph, increase in population and damagein plant were closely related to one another. The susceptible variety, Taichung(N) 1 offered the best conditions for the survival and multiplication for all thespecies, therefore, the plants of this variety suffered the most severe damage.In contrast, the plants of resistant varieties such as DS 1, DK 1 and DM 27were damaged slighly since the plants of these varieties exhabited excellentcharacterestics adverse to the feeding insects of all the speeies. The other resistantvarieties, ASD 7, Ptb 19 and Pankhari 203, they were also highly resistant to N.apicalis and N. impicticeps but were relatively susceptible to N. cincticeps. To N.cincticeps, the plant of ASD 7 and Ptb 19 were damaged moderately, and Pankhari203 was damage severely. Based on this reaction, it seems that the physiologicalconditions of N. apicalis and N. impicticeps were more closely related to each otherthan any one of them related to N. cincticeps. It was concluded that the reactionsamong rice varieties to 3 species of rice green leafhopper were not agreeable inall cases, but some varieties were capable of resistance to all the species.
